Salem was a town in the middle of the woods in a new land. The people of the town were very superstitious.
They also had a fear that the natives would attack them. So before the witch trials began the town was already in chaos.
The people were very stern with their children. If a child talked back to their parents they were
exicuted.
The towns people were from European decent, and with that they had brought some of their cultures
and beliefs to the new world. They believed that witches and their evil spells did exist.
